The Mountain Transit Authority, a Section 5311 Rural Transit provider is searching for a Grant/Fiscal Officer for our transit system in Summersville, WV who is enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who combines their understanding of finance and grant work with their ability to work within a successful team.
The Grant/Fiscal Officer is an essential member of the administrative team who will report directly to the General Manager, and will be responsible for all financial reporting, record keeping, internal controls, grant reporting to the WV Division of Public Transit and the Federal Transit Administration, payroll, processing federal and state payroll taxes, dealing with annual audits, employee benefits, National Transit Database, and all other grant related duties within the transit system.
The successful candidate must have a strong background in QuickBooks, Excel, Office 365, business process, computers, software and software applications, to include desktop publishing, word processing, spreadsheets and databases. Must have knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to personnel and personal policies, must have the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to write reports and procedures, strong interpersonal communication skills, have knowledge of Human Resource Law and Regulations, and comply with federally mandated drug and alcohol policy and screening requirements. Must comply with safety policies and procedures.
This position is a 40-hour, 5-day function. Additional hours and a flexible work schedule are required as needed. This is a salaried position. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
