ROUTE CHANGE
LEWISBURG PURPLE LINE
EFFECTIVE July 3, 2023
Effective July 3, 2023, the Mountain Transit Authority will change the Purple Line (Lewisburg) Route to a Call- A-Ride service. All individuals must call the MTA Office, (304) 872-5872, to schedule a pick up ride each day. MTA will accept scheduled rides in advance, but it is not required.
The benefit of this change is as follows; 1) due to the continued traffic backup along RT. 219 on the Purple Line, the bus will now be able to take streets to get to our passengers quicker without following the current deviated fixed route, 2) the MTA bus will not travel a route which will serve the area better when it comes to timing on any pick up request, 3) the bus will connect with the Green Line at Walmart each hour or as necessary.
If your request for pickup is prior to 8AM, please call prior to 4pm the previous day and schedule your pickup.
If you request a pickup after 4pm each day, please call prior to 4pm on the same day. This will allow our dispatch team the ability to properly schedule your pickup and notify the driver. MTA does ask for your patience between the hours of 10am-3pm due to the volume of traffic each day. On occasion, additional vehicles will be assigned to help with the extra value we expect this to create.
All fares will remain the same per your pickup and destination. The Green Line will not change and will remain as a deviated fixed route.
